Frontend/Product Engineer
Be responsible for how the product looks, feels and performs at launch.
About the role
What this role does.
EvaEsi is a whole new model line, built on the research from Forlais. It is a significant launch, and you can help shape it. You will be responsible for how the product looks, feels and performs at launch. That covers polish, speed, accessibility, mobile, and making sure everything on screen works the way it should. If you are a strong web engineer who has wanted a proper reason to work in Rust, this is a good one.
What you would do:
- Look after product quality across visible launch surfaces.
- Improve polish, speed, accessibility and mobile readiness.
- Make sure the interface does exactly what it says.
- Work well with design and bring your own design eye.
- Help make Rust and WebAssembly frontend work feel production-grade.
What we look for:
- Strong frontend engineering experience and good product judgement.
- Care about speed and how the product feels on ordinary hardware.
- Believe an interface should do exactly what it says.
- Bring an open mind and genuine readiness for a learning curve.
- Are results oriented and comfortable taking responsibility for outcomes.
- Are willing to adapt and try new ideas.
Nice to have:
- Rust/WASM frontend frameworks such as Leptos or Yew, or a record of learning stacks like them quickly.
- Design systems and accessibility standards.
- Server-side rendering and hydration performance work.
- Data-heavy product interfaces: consoles, editors and dashboards.
Process
How the process runs.
Each application is reviewed directly. Expect one or more conversations covering judgement, technical or craft depth, and the responsibility the role carries. EvaEsi does not publish salary ranges in public material; compensation is discussed individually during the process.
